About Simon
Simon Appleton is a founding partner of Eastern Bridge Education and the CEO of Eastern Bridge Limited, a consulting company that supports local governments with international relations and migrant engagement.
Simon has spent a decade in China and several years in South Korea, working across the education, media, and local government sectors. Upon returning to New Zealand, he held roles in local government and a regional economic development agency before establishing his own company.
He is passionate about education—particularly in creating training opportunities for migrants and international visitors to New Zealand. Having been an international student himself, Simon understands the journey firsthand. He completed a Master’s degree at Renmin University in Beijing and worked as a research assistant at a university in South Korea.
